Clients who are ready to go beyond the surface to explore deeper root causes for their current suffering are generally preparing for change. They are tired of being tired, and tired of wanting change without changing. When they are in their darkest of time, its difficult for them to believe there is an opportunity for greater freedom and joy awaiting on the other side. I believe effective counseling identifies therapy goals and desirable results, so there is accountability and cohesion session to session. It is my desire to bring warmth and compassion to the therapy experience while taking an active approach. I will respectfully use reflection of understanding, seek clarification, and generate new insights with clients via challenging them at times. I seek to help my clients identify their mental frameworks that are keeping them stuck in suffering. Inner peace, clarity, joy, and healthy and satisfying relationships (with self and others) are the gifts that follow deeper work.

While my approach is active, it is also very integrative and holistic in nature. Clients will learn body and mind relaxation techniques for greater calm and centering. After self-care is enhanced (foundational to therapy) and there is enough environmental stability in their personal and professional life, we can begin the deeper work. We’ll identify root causes of their current suffering, begin the restorative healing process, and ultimately celebrate together when they awake to their newfound freedom, inner peace, and joy. I provide my clients with plenty of resources (bibliotherapy, community offerings, educational modalities, handouts, etc.) to enrich their therapy experience.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy my time in nature and cherish my family and friends. I seek out great coffee shops and unique book stores to find my cozy nook with charming ambiance. I also love paddle-boarding, hiking, hatha yoga, cooking, and traveling!
