Christine Sciortino, B.A., RYT-200

Christine Sciortino is an artist, priestess, doula, and yoga teacher.

A film industry veteran, Christine spent 13 years working as an on-set hair/makeup artist, and as educating the next generation of filmmakers as a professor in the department of Cinema + Television Arts at Columbia College Chicago. She is the author of the book Makeup Artistry for Film and Television; Your Tools for Success On-Set and Behind-the-Scenes. Christine wrote and directed the film Paper Crane – a project which she and her team used as an advocacy platform for trauma survivors for nearly a decade.

Following a life-changing accident in 2019, Christine devoted her life to healing and wellness. She became passionate about helping others heal through modalities that had supported her, such as Reiki, Yoga, and brain retraining. As she spent years recovering from major injuries, she had the opportunity to see the inner workings of the medical system – a journey that inspired her to become a doula, to help others navigate birth within our current system.

She now lives in Saint Charles IL, where she loves to garden and spend time with her furbabies and her flock of backyard chickens.
